Yes. Your first 30 days are free, giving you the opportunity to run your own books in SparcBooks before paying anything. We do not ask for a credit card until those 30 days are over.
No. No credit card is required to start your 30-day free trial. You only add payment details when you decide to continue after the trial ends, and you can do that from inside SparcBooks at any time.
Two kinds of organization, and there is a version for each. SparcBooks Basic is for small businesses and other organizations that want a full-featured accounting package — general ledger, payables, receivables and invoicing, budgeting, bank reconciliation and reporting, with AI doing the data entry — without paying what the established players charge for it. SparcBooks adds fund accounting and multi-dimensional accounting, and is built for associations, nonprofits, charities, churches and religious organizations, and self-managed HOAs and condo associations, plus the accounting and bookkeeping firms that serve them.
If money arrives at your organization for a particular purpose — restricted funds, reserve funds, designated giving, grants or programs — and you have to be able to show where it went, you want SparcBooks. If you simply need a complete, well-run set of books, SparcBooks Basic is the one. You can move between them later, so it is not a decision you are stuck with.
No. SparcBooks is designed for the reality that the books might be kept by a business owner, office manager, executive director, administrator, treasurer, board member, volunteer or external accountant. The AI experience means you tell SparcBooks what you want to do rather than learning where everything lives in the software.
That is exactly the problem SparcBooks is designed around, and it is a common one for volunteer-run organizations. Instead of teaching every new treasurer how to navigate complicated accounting software, they can simply ask for what they need in everyday language.
SparcBooks supports CSV and Excel imports for transactions and contacts, and our team will help you bring your existing data across — free of charge.
