Privacy Policy

Last updated August 24, 2026

This policy covers sparcbooks.com, our marketing website. It explains what we collect when you use this site, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

SparcBooks is accounting software from the team behind SparcPay. For anything in this policy, use the contact form on this site and it reaches the people who can answer it.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you fill in a form on this site — the trial request form, or the “keep me posted” email box — we collect what you type into it. On the trial request form that is your name, email address, phone number, and the name and type of your organization or company, plus the plan you are interested in and any message you choose to add. The email box collects only your email address.

Of those, only the plan and the message are optional. The shorter form on our advertising pages asks for less: your name, email address, and the name and type of your organization or company.

How you got here

If you arrive from an online advertisement, the link carries campaign parameters — such as a Google Ads click identifier (gclid) or utm_ tags. We keep those for the length of your visit and attach them to your form submission, so we can tell which advertising is worth running. We also record the page you first landed on and the referring website, when your browser supplies one.

What your browser stores

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. It does use your browser’s local storage for two preferences: the country whose prices you are viewing, and whether you are looking at yearly or monthly billing. It uses session storage to hold the campaign parameters described above until you close the tab. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.

What we do not collect

This is a marketing site. It has no accounts, no login and no analytics product running on it, and we do not ask for or store any financial information here.

How we use it

  • To reply to you and set up your free trial.
  • To answer questions you ask us, including about volume pricing.
  • To send product updates, if you asked for them.
  • To understand which advertising brings us the organizations we can help.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Where it goes

Form submissions are delivered to us as email through Amazon Web Services, and are stored in our email system in Canada or the United States. AWS processes the message on our behalf and under our instructions.

Two other services see a request from your browser when you load a page here: our site is hosted on AWS Amplify, and our typefaces are served by Google Fonts. Both receive your IP address as an unavoidable part of delivering the page. If we run Google Ads conversion tracking, Google will also receive a signal that a form was submitted; that signal carries the click identifier, not your name or message.

How long we keep it

We keep trial requests and other enquiries for as long as we are in contact with you about them, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. Update-list subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Ask us to delete any of it and we will.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send the request through our contact form and we will act on it. Every update email we send has an unsubscribe link, and replying “stop” works just as well.

If you are in Canada and are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy question, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

Form submissions are sent over an encrypted connection. We limit access to enquiries to the people who need to answer them. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we will not claim otherwise.

Children

This site is for organizations and the people who run their finances. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
